This year we plan to visit Malta in May and Scapa Flow in September. See the information below and if you need any more then give us a shout on 0402 39737 or email us on
info@first4scuba.com
This trip has been organised for two reasons; Firstly Malta offers clear, warm water diving with wrecks, caverns and walls and is suitable for beginners right up to technical divers.
Secondly, With the trip to Scapa Flow coming up in September, Malta offers an excellent way to complete DSAT TEC Diving courses or any other diving course for that matter.
We dive and stay with Maltaqua in St Pauls Bay and from here we are are transported around the island, and over to Gozo to dive the many shore based dives on offer. There is even a day
trip to the Comino Caves with some boat diving thrown in. There are the wrecks of the Rozi, the Um El Farroud, the P29 and the Maori to name but a few.
This trip will cost €475 but the flights with Ryanair are not included and must be booked by the diver. The price includes a 10 dive package, transport, accomodation, a day trip to dive
in Gozo and a days boat diving around Comino. Tanks and weights are included but all other equipemnt can be rented at the dive center.
If the TEC Deep Level 1 Course is being done instead of the 10 dive Package then the trip will cost €600.
We last dived Scapa Flow in 2005 and everyone enjoyed the diving and I must say most people became much better divers from the experience. The dives are all done from a converted
fishing boat that doubles as a liveaboard if required. As it is in Northern Scotland and most of the dives are below 30m a Dry Suit is a must and we will not be taking anyone who has
not done a Dry Suit Course and a Deep Diver Course.
The first wrecks of each day are all World War 1 German Battleships and destroyers and are mostly intact and excellent dives. The Koeln(Coln), Brummer, Dresden, Karlsruhe, Markgraf and Kronprinz William
will all be dived along with some of the block ships like the Tarbaka (Colins personal favorite) and the F2 and Barge. This trip really is a thrill for any wreck diver but we do advise that twin cylinders or 15L cylinders
with a pony be used by everyone.
This trip will cost €650 but getting there is on your own steam although we do organise the group and head off together in cars and ferries. The price includes accomodation and the week diving with all equipment being brought by the diver.
